This chandelier is reproduced from an original period fixture
that is the only known one of this design. The horizontal, triangular
shaped ring serves as the fuel-oil reservoir. Two sloping tubes
connect the font to the vertical burner tube that, in turn, houses
the wick and wick adjustment mechanism. The tin reflector serves
to direct light downward. This chandelier was often used for
illumination in general stores and factory workrooms. It would
also be appropriate to use it in a variety of other settings
such as in a homes front entrance hallway and kitchen dining
nook. The chandelier is 13 in diameter and the overall
height is 25.
